BizPac Review, March 4, 2024. SCOTUS unanimity unleashed corporate media biases after a major election ruling favoring the former president triggered a “pouting session.”
Defying leftist narratives that propped up judicial activists as the preeminent members of the Supreme Court bench, Monday morning Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson sided with their peers in issuing a 9-0 decision against Colorado, thus permitting former President Donald Trump to remain on the ballot.
While Trump referred to the decision as a “BIG WIN FOR AMERICA!!!” on Truth Social before later holding a press conference, CNN’s Dana Bash joined a panel that looked wholly deflated despite the clear win for democracy.
A clip from the coverage, dubbed a “pouting session” by investor Collin Rugg, included Bash telling anchor Jim Acosta and legal analyst Elie Honig, “Look, unfortunately for America, the court isn’t necessarily wrong that this is the way the Framers wanted it to be.”
“They wanted Congress, the people who are closest to their constituents, to be able to make the rules and the laws. That doesn’t change the fact that, because of gerrymandering in the House and all kinds of other issues, they’re not doing their job on a lot of these big issues,” she added.
In her own concurring opinion on the ruling that clarified Congress, not the states, enforced Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote, “In my judgment, this is not the time to amplify disagreement with stridency. The Court has settled a politically charged issue in the volatile season of a Presidential election. Particularly in this circumstance, writings on the Court should turn the national temperature down, not up.”

“For present purposes, our differences are far less important than our unanimity: All nine Justices agree on the outcome of this case. That is the message Americans should take home,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, during CNN’s coverage, Honig had agreed with the idea that it was unlikely Congress would act legislatively to address the ruling. However, not long after, the network brought on Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin who affirmed the Democrats would be working toward that exact end.
“I am working with a number of my colleagues including [Florida Rep.] Debbie Wasserman Schultz and [California Rep.] Eric Swalwell to revive legislation that we had to set up a process by which we could determine that someone who committed insurrection is disqualified…and the House of Representatives already impeached Donald Trump for participating in insurrection by inciting it,” the ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability said as he made allegations against the former president.
As the commentary appeared to preempt an avalanche of histrionics from Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers everywhere, ridicule was equally readied, including for Colorado’s Secretary of State Jena Griswold (D) who had urged the Supreme Court to side with her state in removing Trump from the ballot ahead of the primary.
